Wolf-Gordon: RubyContent-powered website

Wolf-Gordon, an American design company that manufactures and supplies wallcovering, upholstery, paint, and other materials for interiors, needed a new online presence to showcase its extensive selection. Beyond a digitized catalog, Wolf-Gordon wanted the experience to capture the innovative spirit and almost 50-year history of the company. Our challenge was to match our creative partner, karlssonwilker, stroke for stroke, and add functionality to a multi-dimensional design concept.

The website’s design intent was simple to grasp: Bring swatch-browsing to life online, much as it would with textiles, fabrics, and paint chips in-hand. However, from a technology perspective, the execution of the concept was fraught with complexity–so much so that previous development firms had balked at the challenge, unable to complete the build.

Through an agile, iterative process, we engineered a vibrant, extensive digital catalog. Matching a sophisticated front-end that features a swatch browser with thousands of high resolution images and real-time search capabilities, the back-end is powered by RubyContent, RubensteinTech’s best-in-class content management system.

Further, to ensure products displayed match actual selection, we integrated our software with Wolf-Gordon’s product management, ordering, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application. This, of course, was after migrating content, including thousands of product SKUs over from a legacy system. From a customer perspective, not only does browsing happen in real-time and plush detail, the site is iPad optimized to allow for viewing and the ordering of swatch samples in different environments.
