Morrison & Foerster: MoFo2Go iOS mobile application
MoFo2Go was designed and developed to extend Morrison & Foerster's brand to Apple's iOS mobile platform. The app itself embodies the firm's rather unique image by providing clients with relevant articles and publications, attorney bios, maps of the firm’s offices with suggestions of where to dine and stay when visiting, and even an entertaining game. It was designed and implemented as a native iPhone App by RubensteinTech under the creative direction of Michael Bierut and Jennifer Kinon at Pentagram.
Collaborating directly with MoFo’s Marketing team to develop a cost-effective plan was educational and exciting. We defined the strategy, feature set, content, and technical details in the discovery phase. From there we worked with our design partner Pentagram to design each screen in exacting detail. Once designed, we were able to initiate the development of MoFo2Go within the ecosystem of RubyApps.
The People section allows users to view short bios of all Morrison & Foerster attorneys, searchable by practice, industry, office location, and law school. The News section includes firm press releases, client alerts, newsletters, and articles from the firm's award-winning publication MoFo Tech, which users will be automatically alerted to via a notification button on the application. The Location function provides information about all offices, including addresses, directions, and nearby transportation hubs, restaurants, and hotels. Lastly, Play is an entertainment function that features a maze game.
MoFo2Go users never get to see RubyApps, the software platform powering the app and enabling users to manage content within it. RubyApps lets MoFo administrators quickly and easily update application information on thousands of devices. While most data is retrieved automatically, MoFo can manage all news articles, bios, and location information with the RubyApps system.
Morrison & Foerster received industry attention by releasing the first AmLaw 100 iPhone app in March 2010. Now MoFo2Go is seeing a second wave of press as the App begins to win awards.
