Spotlight on RubyLaw: Data Import
As we look back on the nearly 10 years since we launched RubyLaw, we’re thankful to the team members and clients that have helped us build, maintain, and evolve our platform to meet the changing needs of a growing user base. Apropos of this sentiment, this month’s Spotlight on RubyLaw focuses on one of the most requested features of all time: the ability to update data en masse. While many content updates are unique and particular, others tend to be global or systemic, and impact entire sections or content types. Often, the category is the same, e.g., telephone number or certification, but the actual content is distinct.
For this, RubyLaw version 21, to be released in January, will include the ability to make updates in bulk. Existing functionality to export content from RubyLaw into Excel spreadsheet format has been enhanced to support more sophisticated metadata. Users can upload content en masse in this same Excel spreadsheet format to add or edit content in RubyLaw. This functionality translates to saved time and money, as development assistance is no longer required for these activities.
