Takes On Times Square

It was all hands on deck as the team celebrated new hires and new projects with a night in Times Square.

We started by setting the developers loose at the Dave & Busters arcade. QA tried to game the machines, and project managers ensured that the only bottlenecks present were those at the bar. Nearly everyone walked away with at least one stuffed animal from the crane games. After a final, epic duel of reflexes between our back-end development intern and the resident Director of Software Engineering (experience won out), we went to grab some food.

A reservation at Gyu-kaku was waiting for us, so we sat down to a feast of Japanese BBQ. We started with appetizers of edamame and salmon sashimi seared with hot oil, then moved onto cooking the meats and veggies ourselves on the shared barbecue grills in front of us. Everyone took a turn roasting miso-marinated hanger steak, toro beef, and even chateaubriand steak drizzled with citrusy ponzu sauce. The vegetarians had carte blanche over the menu to pick out what fit their diet, and made sure to keep a clean section of the grill for themselves.
